March 15, 2014 Gone Dancin': CSUN Captures Big West Championship, Bound for NCAA Tournament For the first time in its Big West Conference history, the Cal State Northridge Women's Basketball team (18-14) is headed to the NCAA Tournament. The Matadors scored a 73-58 victory over Cal Poly in the Big West Championship Saturday, Mar. 15 at Honda Center. Ashlee Guay, the tournament's Most Valuable Player, led CSUN with 25 points.
March 14, 2014 CSUN Faces Cal Poly in Big West Championship on FoxSports PrimeTicket The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (17-14) faces Cal Poly Saturday afternoon in the Big West Championship at 1 p.m. on FoxSports PrimeTicket. The Matadors and Mustangs will meet for the Big West Conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. March 14, 2014 Matadors Down UC Irvine to Advance to Big West Championship Ashlee Guay scored a game-high 24 points and and Camille Mahlknecht added 16 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks as the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (17-14) defeated UC Irvine 78-60 in a Big West Conference Tournament Semifinal at Honda Center Friday afternoon. With the win, CSUN advances to the Big West Tournament Championship at 1 p.m. on Fox Sports West Primeticket against either Cal Poly or Hawai'i.
March 13, 2014 CSUN Squares off With UC Irvine in Big West Semifinal on ESPN3 The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (16-14) takes on UC Irvine Friday at noon in a Big West Conference Tournament Semifinal at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The top-seeded team in the tournament, CSUN will square off with the fourth-seeded Anteaters in a contest that will be broadcast live on ESPN3. March 10, 2014 Matadors Collect Historic Haul on All-Big West Women's Basketball Team The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team received a historic haul of awards as part of the 2013-14 All-Big West Team, highlighted by Ashlee Guay earning Big West Player of the Year honors. In addition to Guay's individual award, Camille Mahlknecht was named Big West Defensive Player of the Year, Jason Flowers was named Big West Coach of the Year and Janae Sharpe and Cinnamon Lister earned All-Big West honors.
March 6, 2014 Matadors Capture Big West Title Outright with Victory at Long Beach State For the first time in program history, the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team are Big West Champions. The Matadors (16-14, 12-4 Big West) defeated Long Beach State 52-49 Thursday evening in a Big West contest at Walter Pyramid. Bernadette Fong scored 12, Cinnamon Lister added 11 and Janae Sharpe pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds as CSUN completed the season sweep of the 49ers.
March 5, 2014 CSUN Heads to Long Beach State to Conclude Big West Season The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (15-14, 11-4 Big West) heads to Long Beach State for its final regular season game of the 2013-14 season on Thursday, Mar. 6 for a 7 p.m. tip off from the Walter Pyramid. March 3, 2014 Janae Sharpe Named Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week Junior guard Janae Sharpe of the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. In CSUN's wins over Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside, Sharpe averaged 23 points and 6.5 rebounds as the Matadors earned at least a share of the Big West title and the No. 1 seed in the Big West Tournament.
March 1, 2014 CSUN Rallies Past UCR to Claim Share of Big West Title The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (15-14, 11-4 Big West) overcame a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat UC Riverside 77-75 Saturday afternoon at The Matadome. Janae Sharpe scored a team-high 24 points, Ashlee Guay added 20 and the Matadors claimed a share of the Big West Conference regular season title for the first time in program history.
February 28, 2014 Matadors Alone in First Place after Victory over Titans The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (14-14, 10-4 Big West) defeated Cal State Fullerton 79-59 at The Matadome Thursday night. Cinnamon Lister set a career high with seven 3-pointers and scored a team-high 25 points while Janae Sharpe went for 22 as the Matadors moved back into first place in the Big West standings.
February 26, 2014 CSUN Hosts Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside in Final Regular Season Home Contests The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (13-14, 9-4 Big West) host Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside this week in a pair of crucial match-ups for the upcoming Big West Tournament. On Thursday, Feb. 27, the Matadors host the Titans at 7 p.m. Two days later, CSUN hosts UC Riverside on Senior Day at 4 p.m. Following the contest with the Highlanders, the Matadors will honor its two-member senior class: Mikayla Thielges and Haley White. February 20, 2014 CSUN Travels for Contest at UC Irvine, Broadcast Featured on ESPN3 The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (13-13, 9-3 Big West) hits the road for its only game of the week, a contest on Saturday, Feb. 22 at UC Irvine starting at 4 p.m. and broadcast around the world on ESPN3. February 15, 2014 Multiple Records Fall as CSUN Defeats UCSB The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (13-13, 9-3 Big West) defeated UC Santa Barbara 78-54 Saturday afternoon in a Big West Conference contest at The Matadome. Cinnamon Lister became CSUN's single-season 3-point leader, Camille Mahlknecht grabbed a program-record 22 rebounds and the Matadors defeated the Gauchos in Northridge for the first time since 1984.
February 13, 2014 Matadors Go Wire-to-Wire to Down Cal Poly 83-57 The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (12-13, 8-3 Big West) never trailed in defeating Cal Poly 83-57 Thursday evening in a Big West Conference contest at Mott Gym. The win marked CSUN's first at Cal Poly since 2005 and handed the Mustangs their first home defeat of the season.

Ashlee Guay dished out seven assists to set a new program all-time record, but the Aggies shot 60 percent (24-of-40) from the field to snap the Matadors' three-game winning streak.

January 3, 2014 Bakersfield Slips Past CSUN in Overtime Melissa Sweat scored the game-winning lay-up with a minute to play in overtime to lift CSU Bakersfield to a 74-73 overtime victory over the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (4-10) Thursday night at The Matadome. Cinnamon Lister led five Matadors in double figures with 20 points, including five 3-pointers, but Northridge could not capitalize on its final possesion of the extra period.
December 29, 2013 CSUN Can't Slow Down Oregon in 96-61 Defeat Boasting the nation’s top scoring offense, Oregon handed the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (4-9) a 96-61 loss Sunday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena in a non-conference contest. Junior Cinnamon Lister scored a career-high 26 points and knocked down a career-high six 3-pointers, one shy of matching the school record, for the Matadors in defeat.
December 26, 2013 CSUN Says Goodbye to 2013 and Hello to 2014 with Contests vs. Oregon, CSU Bakersfield The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (4-8) close out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a pair of contests centered around the end of the calendar year. Junior Camille Mahlknecht (11 points, 12 rebounds) and sophomore Bernadette Fong (12 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles for the Matadors, but it was not enough to give CSUN its first home win of the year.
November 29, 2013 Late Run Pushes Santa Clara Past CSUN 66-61 A 14-2 run over the final six minutes of the contest lifted Santa Clara to a 66-61 victory over the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (2-4) Friday night in the second game of the Radisson Hotel Chatsworth Thanksgiving Basketball Classic. Four Matadors finished in double figures, but a tough shooting night from the perimeter sealed their fate.

November 23, 2013 BYU Posts 82-66 Victory over CSUN The BYU Cougars opened the second half on a 23-5 run and settled for an 82-66 victory over the Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (2-3) Saturday afternoon in a non-conference contest at the Matadome. Cinnamon Lister scored 20 points and drained a career-high five 3-pointers while Ashlee Guay added 16 points, three assists and three steals in the Matadors' home opener.

November 17, 2013 CSUN Women's Hoops Defeats Clemson 69-53 Facing an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent for just the second time in school history, the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (1-2) defeated Clemson 69-53 Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest at Littlejohn Coliseum. November 15, 2013 CSUN Heads East to Face Clemson, Georgia Southern The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (0-2) packs its bags for a trip to South Carolina and Georgia. November 26, 2011 Northridge Outlasts West Virginia to Claim Thanksgiving Classic Championship Sophomore Kaitlyn Petersen led the Matadors in scoring with 17 points, including a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line, as Cal State Northridge (4-2) defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers (3-2) 48-47 in the championship game of the Holiday Inn Woodland Hills Thanksgiving Basketball Classic 2011. February 6, 2012 Historic Week Earns Jasmine Erving Big West Player of the Week Honors After posting a pair of double-doubles in two conference road wins last week, CSUN senior Jasmine Erving has been named the Big West Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. In wins at UC Riverside and UC Irvine, Erving averaged 29 points and 10 rebounds, including a career-high 36 points in Northridge's victory over the Anteaters.

April 26, 2012 Matador Women’s Basketball Enjoys Banner Year in 2011-12 Season Flowers guided the Matadors to an impressive and historic campaign in the 2011-12 season. The Matadors finished 17-14 overall, compiling the best turnaround in the nation, and posted an 11-5, second-place finish in the Big West Conference. The success culminated in an invitation to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), just the second time in the school’s Division-I history that the Matadors participated in the postseason.

October 10, 2011 Pair of Matadors Earn Preseason Accolades Senior Jasmine Erving and freshman Janae Sharpe received preseason All-Big West honors from the website College Sports Madness. August 13, 2012 Bernadette Fong Joins Matadors for 2012-13 Season The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team has added Bernadette Fong to the 2012-13 roster, head coach Jason Flowers announced. A 6-3 center from Liberty High School in Northern California, Fong brings an interior presence to the Matadors’ incoming class.
December 21, 2011 CSUN Squanders Halftime Lead in 73-66 Loss at Portland The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (5-7) lost 73-66 to Portland Wednesday night in a non-conference game at the Chiles Center. Despite holding an 11-point halftime lead, the Matadors could not stop the Pilots from claiming the comeback victory.
December 16, 2011 CSUN Heads to Pacific Northwest for Contests at Oregon, Portland The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team (5-5) hits the road for its final two non-conference road games of the 2011-12 season. The Matadors will face the Oregon Ducks of the Pac 12 Conference on Dec. 19, and then face the Portland Pilots of the West Coast Conference on Dec. 21. February 15, 2013 Tigers Shoot Their Way Past CSUN, 74-56 The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (12-12, 6-6 Big West) lost 74-56 Thursday nigh to Pacific in a Big West Conference contest at The Matadome. Violet Alama finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Matadors, but the Tigers shot a blistering 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from 3-point range and 60.9 percent (14-of-23) in the second half to pull away with the victory.
December 19, 2011 Matadors Fall Just Short at Oregon, 79-75 The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team (5-6) lost 79-75 to Oregon Monday night at Matthew Knight Arena in a non-conference game. Down by 12 at halftime, the Matadors mounted a spirited rally and cut the lead to three in the final minute before the Ducks hit some free throws to seal the win.

Marta Masoni led the scoring attack for Northridge with a season-high 22 points, including five three-pointers, and Ashlee Guay added 15 points and a career-high 12 assists.

November 28, 2011 Jasmine Erving Named Big West Player of the Week Senior Jasmine Erving of the Cal State Northridge women's basketball program was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Erving was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Woodland Hills Holiday Inn Thanksgiving Basketball Classic 2011 after helping to lead the team to victories over Colgate and West Virginia.

December 3, 2011 Matadors Fall at Pepperdine 68-64 Turnovers and fouls spelled the difference in a tightly contested game as the Cal State Northridge Matadors (4-4) dropped a 68-64 decision to the Pepperdine Waves (5-3) on Saturday afternoon at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. Senior Jasmine Erving led all scorers with 27 points (13-for-24) to pass Patricia De La Riva and move into fourth place all-time at Northridge for career field goals made (487).
